Lori Warren, PhD, PAS

Associate Professor, Equine Nutrition

Lori K. Warren completed her BS at the University of Wyoming and her MS and PhD at the University of Kentucky with a dual emphasis in equine nutrition and exercise physiology. Since 2004, Dr. Warren has directed the equine nutrition program at the University of Florida, where she is involved in research and training undergraduate, graduate and veterinary students. Her research evaluates the effects of nutrition on immune function, athletic performance, and reproduction. She has also worked to identify management and nutrition solutions to minimize the environmental impact of horse manure on water quality. In 2007-08 she served on a National Research Council committee tasked with evaluating the safety of dietary supplements for horses, dogs and cats. Dr. Warren is Past President of the Equine Science Society and was appointed by the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture to serve on the Feed Technical Council.
