Dr. DiLorenzo’s presentation is entitled “Measuring and managing enteric methane emissions in beef cattle”. During this presentation, the main challenges and opportunities regarding the quantification and potential mitigation of enteric methane emissions will be discussed. The presentation will address the newest methodologies and the current technical challenges associated with quantification techniques and the current status of the available interventions to decrease enteric methane while maintaining animal productivity. Finally, a brief discussion will be presented about the gaps of information and future research needs in terms of enteric methane emissions in livestock systems.
