Soybean meal (SBM) is a processed and blended feed ingredient. While it is clear that soybean composition will affect SBM and oil composition after processing, relatively little attention has been paid to clearly defining the impact of soybean seed composition on SBM – beyond protein. This presentation will provide an overview of the variation noted in soybean quality and how this can and does affect SBM.
